70 Years Simplex Knitting

We are delighted to be celebrating our Platinum Jubilee this year – Seventy years of successful business in Nottingham, supplying a world-wide customer base.
Simplex Knitting was established in 1953 by Paul Stiegler and remains in the ownership of the Stiegler family to this day. In the 1950s, no well dressed woman went out without gloves and this was the primary use for the fabric at that time. In more recent times, we have had the honour of supplying fabric to make gloves for the late Queen Elizabeth II. In the 1960s Simplex introduced a new market for shoe linings before moving into the intimate apparel market in the 1980s. This is now the primary focus of our business. Our products are ideal for lingerie production, both moulded cups and cut and sew styles.
